ICSI Treatment — Precision Fertility Technology
Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection — the gold standard for male-factor infertility and previous IVF failures.
Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI) is an advanced IVF technique where a single healthy sperm is directly injected into an egg to achieve fertilisation. This method is especially effective in cases of male infertility.
What is ICSI?
ICSI is a micro-manipulation procedure performed under a high-powered microscope by our embryologists. After eggs are retrieved, the most morphologically perfect sperm is selected and injected directly into the cytoplasm of each mature egg — bypassing natural fertilisation barriers entirely.
Who Needs ICSI?
- Low sperm count (oligospermia)
- Poor sperm motility (asthenospermia)
- Abnormal sperm shape (teratospermia)
- Previous IVF fertilisation failures
- Surgically retrieved sperm (TESA / PESA)
- Frozen sperm samples with limited quantity
The ICSI Process
- 1
Sperm Selection
Embryologist identifies the healthiest, most motile sperm under high magnification.
- 2
Egg Preparation
Mature eggs are gently held in place using a specialised holding pipette.
- 3
Injection into Egg
A single sperm is injected directly into the egg's cytoplasm.
- 4
Embryo Development
Fertilised eggs are cultured in our state-of-the-art incubators for 3–5 days.
- 5
Transfer into Uterus
The healthiest embryo is transferred into the uterus for implantation.
Benefits of ICSI
Higher Fertilisation Rates
Up to 70–80% fertilisation even with severe male factor issues.
Ideal for Severe Infertility
Effective when conventional IVF cannot achieve fertilisation.
Improved Success Outcomes
Reduces uncertainty by ensuring direct sperm-egg interaction.
